Building Blocks Tutoring Policy
Effective 2025-2026
At Building Blocks Tutoring, we are committed to providing a high-quality educational experience for your child. To ensure clarity and smooth operations, the following policies are in place:
1. Tuition & Payments
• The hourly tutoring rate is $50 per hour.
-
One lesson per week $175 /month
-
Two lessons per week $350 /month
• Monthly tuition is based on 35 weeks of lessons throughout the school year.
• Tuition payments are due on the 1st of each month.
• Parents are strongly encouraged to set up autopay for convenience and to avoid any late fees.
• A $25 late fee will be assessed if payment is not received by the 6th of the month.
• Repeated late payments may result in suspension or termination of tutoring services.
2. Scheduling & Holidays
• We follow the Hays CISD school calendar for holiday closures:
-
Labor Day
-
Thanksgiving Week
-
Christmas Break
-
Spring Break
-
Good Friday
-
Monday After Easter
-
Memorial Day
• Tutoring will still be available on all other minor holidays and staff workdays.
3. Attendance & Make-Up Lessons
• A 24-hour advance notice is required if your child will be absent from a scheduled session. This allows us to adjust our schedule accordingly.
• One make-up lesson each month is included for a missed lesson.
• Once the free make-up lesson is used, additional lessons can be scheduled at the standard rate of $50 per hour.
• Excessive absences may result in termination of services to allow space for other students.
4. Punctuality
• Parents are responsible for ensuring their child arrives on time for tutoring sessions.
• Late arrivals will result in a shortened session, and no additional time will be added.
5. Tutoring Format & Classroom Policies
• Each lesson is 45-minutes followed by 10 minutes for review and answering any questions from parents or
student.
-
All tutoring sessions are in-person at the business location. Online services are not provided.
-
Parents of children ages 3-4 who require early language intervention, may elect to have in-home lessons, if appropriate.
• Lessons will be video-recorded using an in-classroom camera. This allows for session reviews and quality
improvements.
• Parents are welcome to view recordings of their child’s session upon request.
• Students are welcome to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated and maintain focus. No foods please.
By adhering to these policies, we can ensure a consistent, effective, and high-quality tutoring experience for your child. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
